I had a great idea about Gumroad.
I went through the process to set it up. Created the product page, uploaded the files, the whole thing.
It is live now and in process.
I am waiting on the results so I can report back to you.
But here is what happened while I was setting it up.
It triggered a thought.
I wonder how many other platforms are out there where people are already buying digital products?
Platforms I have never used. Maybe never even heard of.
So I asked my research AI to find out.
It came back with twenty-seven.
Twenty-seven platforms where buyers are already browsing, searching, and pulling out their credit cards.
Some of them you know.
Some of them you might not.
Each one has its own audience. Its own culture. Its own type of buyer.
And here is what struck me.
Most of us have platform blindness.
We sell where we sell because that is where we started. We do not see the other marketplaces because they are not in our daily orbit.
But our buyers are there.
The person who would love your course might live on Udemy.
The person who needs your template might browse Creative Market every Tuesday.
The person who wants your coaching might be in a Skool community you have never visited.
You do not need to build more products.
You need to put what you already have where people can find it.
This is the opposite of the advice you usually hear.
People tell you to build your own traffic. Own your audience. Do not rely on platforms.
That is good advice for the long term. I teach it myself.
But if you need customers now, the fastest path is to go where the customers already are.
Rent the audience. Then build your own.
I am not saying abandon your website or your newsletter. Quite the opposite.
Those are your home base.
I am saying most people have one door into their business when they could have five.
I will report back on how Gumroad performs.
In the meantime, if you are curious which platforms match what you sell, reply and tell me what your product is. I will point you toward the two or three that fit best.
To your success,
Charlie
P.S. The full report covers all twenty-seven platforms, what they charge, and who should use which. If you want a copy when it is ready, reply with PLATFORMS and I will send it your way.
