Did you know that roughly seven in ten people who start a checkout never finish it?
That number has been true since 1924 when the idea of a sales funnel was invented.
Some people thought a more complicated funnel (many have 8 to 12 pages) would solve the problem.
As one of my daughters used to say … opposite!
So why do funnels “leak” sales and how can you plug the holes in your funnel?
First things first - it’s almost certainly not your copy, your graphics or your offer. Copywriters and coaches make fortunes convincing you the problem is you but it’s probably not.
The problem is the structure itself.
You see, in the rush to create the “super funnel” people added steps.
And steps equal complication.
And people universally hate complication.
Here’s the bottom line …
If you are selling a low-ticket product (under $100) and your funnel has more than three steps between when the visitor arrives and makes payment, you are losing money.
It’s time to streamline those funnels so let’s get to work …
Here are eight actions you can take to make sure that you capture every sale possible.
1. Give Them One Decision To Make
Give the visitor one action. One button. One choice. Every element on the page supports the buy button or it comes off.
2. Clarity First
The buyer must know what you are selling and what happens next within five seconds (or less) of landing on the page. Confusion is the enemy of conversion.
3. Fewest Fields
Name. Email. Payment. Every extra field costs sales you never hear about.
4. Visible Safety
Guarantee, secure marks, and a real refund policy belong next to the button where the buyer sees them at the moment of decision.
5. Objections Answered
A short FAQ handles the three doubts that stop most buyers. Do not make the buyer hunt for answers.
Just so you know, the three doubts that most buyers have are:
Will this actually work for me? (skepticism)
Is this worth the price? (value uncertainty)
What if I don't like it / can I get my money back? (risk)
6. Honest Urgency
A real deadline, a real bonus, a real price change. Never a fake timer. Buyers can smell false scarcity.
7. Stacked Value
Show the full list of what arrives the moment they pay. Let the buyer feel the weight of what they are getting. No one does this better than Russell Brunson.
8. Instant Delivery
When selling products priced under $100 make payment trigger immediate access. No waiting. No manual step. No logging in. No doubt.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to look at your funnel with fresh eyes.
Then remove the extra steps.
