When you look at Ryan Deiss, Russell Brunson, Maria Wendt, or other big players in our industry it can feel like they came out of nowhere.

They didn't. The truth is they came from somewhere, and it looked a lot like where you are right now.

Each one of them started with one baby step.

  • One article.

  • One social post.

  • One product idea.

  • One email.

Here's the thing: we need to not despise the day of small beginnings.

We need to embrace it.

Do you have a blog with only 20 posts on it? Embrace that - and create a structure that makes sure there's a 21st.

Do you have a social media account nobody follows? That's an easy fix. Start following people, and they'll follow you back.

Do you have an email list, an autoresponder, and a squeeze page, but nobody's joining? That's fixable too - just not if your goal is going from zero to 10,000 subscribers overnight. The only way a 10,000-person list gets built ethically and intelligently is one subscriber at a time.

So here's my advice: focus on the one ideal customer you can serve at your highest level right now.

You might feel like there's nobody you can serve at a high level right now.

  • You don't know enough yet.

  • You haven't succeeded yet.

  • You haven't made the sales you wanted to make.

  • Who are you to teach somebody else?

Believe me: after 26 years of doing this, I can tell you that you know things other people want (and need) to know.

Here's the formula: begin sharing your best information openly, in every venue you can.

The information doesn't have to be original to you. It could be something you read about today that you agree with. Openly share it

If you have a blog, write a post about something you can teach someone else. Whatever you've learned is valuable. If you learned from your mistakes, that's great. If you learned from studying, that's great. If you learned from succeeding, that's great too.

But begin sharing.

You don't have to be a teacher. You don't have to be a college professor. All you have to do is share.

And here's my encouragement: right after you read this, go quiet for five minutes. Take out a pen and a piece of paper, and write down ideas of things you can share. Just let them come to you. They will.

And if you sit there for five minutes and nothing comes - that's okay. Email me. I'll give you some ideas.

This is the way businesses are built. Empires, actually, are built this way. One baby step at a time.

I hope you find this helpful and encouraging. I believe you can do great things - if you take one baby step at a time.

P.S. The reason I created Master Membership was so that I could serve individuals at my highest level, one-to-one. If that's the kind of help you've been looking for, Master Membership is here.
