You want more subscribers. More sales. More of the good stuff.
So you go looking for a traffic source. A hack. A secret nobody has found yet.
And you watch other people get what you want, seemingly without even trying.
What are they doing that you are not doing?
Spending their retirement on Meta ads?
Posting until their fingers cramp?
Doing Joint Ventures with the big dogs?
It’s none of those things.
In fact, one of the simplest list building methods of all is living in your brain right now.
It costs nothing. It takes minutes a day. And it works at any age, in any niche, on any platform.
Share your knowledge (and opinion) on social media.
Traffic and sales start with a conversation. Not in the real world but in the head of your ideal buyer.
The problem is that your ideal buyer probably doesn’t know you exist … yet!
Here are four proven ways to fix that without spending a dime.
1. Post your experience.
Not a sales pitch. Your experience. What works for you? What you have seen work? What you have watched fail?
When you share what you have actually lived through, people stop scrolling. Nobody can argue with your experience.
The natural question is “who cares about my opinion?” The answer is more people than you think.
The rise of Facebook, Reddit and more all prove that sharing your opinion works.
Which leads naturally to point #2. (I love it when that happens)
2. Opinion beats information.
People can sense an offer a mile away. That’s why you have to sneak up on them.
Remember rule #1 - they have to know, like, and trust you.
For that to happen they have to (say it with me) know you first.
Anyone can repeat a headline.
Nobody can repeat your opinion. Your take on your own industry or the economy or, dare I say it, politics, is the one thing a competitor cannot copy.
3. Ask for theirs.
End your post with a question and let people talk.
Not that “link in the first comment” stuff. That works well but is less genuine than saying “feel free to share your thoughts”
Questions like these never go quiet:
Is the economy in trouble?
Do funnels still work?
Is affiliate marketing dead?
Will AI make marketing obsolete?
Does SEO still work?
Give your opinion and then ask your readers (sweet words - YOUR readers) to weigh in.
People love to give their opinion. Every reply is a conversation. Every conversation is a relationship. Every relationship can lead to more.
Remember - know, like, trust. (If you don’t know about this hit reply and ask me)
The sweet part is that you don’t have to get them to like you.
The ones that do will and the ones that don’t were never going to be your customers.
That’s the whole game so read that line again please.
4. Give something away.
A more direct route is to offer a free resource to everyone who responds. A checklist. A short guide. A template. Deliver it by email.
That last part matters. It is how a conversation becomes a subscriber.
You may be thinking this sounds too simple. Understood. A little skepticism is healthy.
But do not decide from the sidelines. Experience this one. One post. One question. One free resource. Today if possible.
Do it for a week and decide for yourself.
The first time a stranger replies with their opinion, you will understand.
Social media rewards conversation.
Email rewards depth.
This method uses both.
You light the flame in public. You fan it on your list.
Hit reply and tell me - what is the one question you would ask your audience?
To your success,
Charlie
